Immigration Bonds

Specialized Bonds - Immigration Bonds

If you are a US citizen, then immigration bonds may not mean much to you. However, to an immigrant who has been incarcerated, the Immigration and Naturalization Service, or INS, can make a huge difference. It means not sitting in a detention facility for weeks waiting for their case to be heard. It can also mean being free to speak with an attorney. A bail bond agency that specializes in this form of bond can be a great asset.

The Department of Immigration and Naturalization Service issues the immigration bonds to a bail bond agency that is specially licensed and experienced with immigration issues, such as incarceration. It requires a special set of laws and the agency knowing what these special laws entail. There will be some immigrants who will run, as studies have shown, because they fear being returned to their home country, for whatever reasons.

There are two ways a bond is posted. The first is a cash bond in which the immigrant puts up the entire amount in cash him or herself. The second is through a bail agency that will guarantee the bond but requires a percentage of the bond as their fee. The higher the risk of running, the larger the bond will be and thus the percentage, which is non-refundable, will be higher as well. As long as the immigrant shows up to the court on the designated day there will be no problems.

There is one note that needs attention when dealing with the INS. Just because an immigrant is arrested does not mean they will automatically be deported back to their home country. It depends largely on the degree of crime and whether or not they are in the United States legally. Chances are pretty high that if they are here illegally, they will be deported back to their home country. Just as with American citizens, immigrants are innocent until proven guilty.

The Immigration and Naturalization Service is the best resource to have when it comes to immigration laws and the immigration bonds needed by those individuals who find themselves in trouble with the law. The INS also provides references to local bail bond agencies that specialize in these special bonds. In addition, they can make referrals for criminal attorneys to help when the case goes to court. It is the best solution to a bad situation when a resolution needs to be found as quickly as possible.

Today's Tip On Bail Bonds

Is bounty hunting really like those reality television shows?

Any real bounty hunter will tell you that their job is not nearly as exciting as the reality television shows pain it out to be. Many times they go to find the defendant and he or she is sitting at their house with some excuse as to why they did not show up at court. There are times of excitement when the person goes on the run but those are few and far between. There is usually no "jet setting" lifestyle where they fly to some exotic place to retrieve the defendant.
